The Cobalt Qube is a full-featured Internet Appliance.
Why do people need to install a separate router for network
connectivity? The Cyclades-PC300 is a routing board for the
Cobalt Qube and RaQ products. It enables the Cobalt appliances
to connect directly to the Internet backbone and eliminates
the need for an external router. With the PC300, the Qube
becomes a true Internet Gateway Appliance. The user gets a
better solution and Cobalt can offer more competitive and
profitable solutions.

The Qube can provide all the Internet services required by
small/medium-sized businesses. Today it is usually installed
side-by-side with an external router (such as Cisco). This
solution goes against the concept of Network Appliance and
has two fundamental problems:
