DR+ North America Series Operating at 15, 18, 23 & 38
GHz with Capacities of 4DS1, 8DS1 & 1DS3
The basic architecture of the DR+ consists of three parts;
a pole mounted Outdoor Unit, a rack-mounted Indoor Unit and
interconnecting cable between the two. We refer to our design
concept as "mix and match" since it allows any Indoor Unit
to be connected to any frequency Outdoor Unit. The benefits
of this concept include a reduction in spares required, quick
delivery and installation, and decreased training time, all
of which result in lower overall system cost.
Frequencies can be adjusted across the entire tuning range
of the Outdoor Unit from the Indoor Unit or remotely using
our Network Management System. This results in reduced sparing
requirements and quicker deployment and redeployment. MMIC-based
VCOs increase equipment reliability and ensure frequency,
accuracy, and stability.
Transmit power can be adjusted from the Indoor Unit. In the
23 and 38 GHz radios, this allows the radio link to operate
at the appropriate output consistent with path reliability
and regulatory considerations. In lower frequency radios,
provisions have been made for the installation of fixed SMA
attenuators.
Provides for direct reading of the local and remote RSL in
dBm, and of the link fade margin in dB, on the Liquid Crystal
Display (LCD) or remotely from the Network Management System.
Isolating an entire terminal and/or individual tributaries
allows complete trial-testing without expensive test equipment.
RF loopback provides accurate measurement of the transmitter
output power using the local receiver.
Allows monitoring of radio operations locally through a front
panel mounted LCD or by laptop computer with available "Local
Access Port" software. Built in diagnostics include alarm
reporting, local and remote loopback of individual tributary
or composite signal, local RF loopback, local transmit power
measurement, statistical performance data, local and remote
RSL measurement in dBm, transmitter mute, fade margin, performance
parameters, and bit error testing. It is also directly compatible
with our Network Management System.
